Web3 for Beginners
Published on December 7, 2025
You’ve heard it everywhere; Web3, crypto, blockchain, NFTs.
But what exactly is Web3?
Let’s strip out the jargon.
Web2 is where you use the internet.
Web3 is where you own part of it.
On Web2 platforms like Instagram or TikTok, you create content but don’t own the platform.
Web3 flips this, it gives users ownership, identity, and opportunity.
Think of Web3 as:
the internet + money + ownership
where users can earn, govern, and participate
where digital assets belong to you, not a company
Examples we already see:
NFTs as access passes
Tokens as community currency
DAOs as group decision systems
Wallets as digital identity
It’s still early, which means learning Web3 now is like learning the internet in 2000.
